George HornigAdvisory Board Member
George Hornig, Advisory Board Member of Longsight, is a successful senior executive and business founder whose global career has focused on financial advisory work, operating management and venture capital investing. His experience as an executive and board member spans financial services, including asset management, investment banking and fin-tech, and industries as diverse as healthcare, manufacturing, outsourcing of business services, social media, cyber security, e-sports, augmented reality, and e-waste management. In addition to his role in leading and restructuring established businesses, Mr. Hornig has been a significant investor and adviser for many early stage companies.
From 2010 – 2016, Mr. Hornig was a Senior Managing Director of PineBridge Investments, an asset manager with over $80 billion under management. He led the restructuring of the operations of this former division of AIG Insurance following its acquisition by PineBridge.
Prior to joining PineBridge, Mr. Hornig spent 11 years at Credit Suisse Asset Management as Global Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Americas, at Deutsche Bank. In 1988, he was a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Wasserstein Perella & Co., following his tenure at The First Boston Corp. Mr. Hornig also practiced law for two years at Skadden Arps at the start of his career.
Mr. Hornig is currently Chairman of The Seed Lab, an early-stage venture fund, a Director of KBL Merger Corp IV (a special purpose acquisition company), Edelman (communications marketing firm), Xometry (advanced manufacturing platform business), and Syntax (ETF with proprietary passive index rebalancing technology).
Mr. Hornig received his A.B. in Economics from Harvard College, his MBA from Harvard Business School and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
